Message from Chief Pasqualini

I would like to remind the residents of Newtown and Wrightstown Townships the importance of locking your parked vehicles. This year officers have responded to more than 200 reports of thefts from vehicles. Most of the victims have reported that the vehicle was not locked at the time of the theft. Some arrests have been made and it has become evident that the suspects have randomly tried to open the doors of parked vehicles and if they open the criminal rummages through the car looking for valuables. Even with the doors locked it is important to remove items that may tempt those looking for an opportunity to steal from you. GPS units, cell phones, briefcases, sunglasses and laptop computers are frequently the objects of interest to the criminals. Keep in mind that these things are not difficult to pawn or sell. Outdoor lighting will discourage criminals from approaching your property. The crimes have occurred throughout our area and at various times of day or night. If you see or hear any suspicious activity please call the Non-emergency police number; (215) 598-7121 to have an officer respond to check the area.
